What is this African bug that we found in an african wooden sculpture?

My mother went to Africa 2 years ago and brought back a sculpture, as like a souviner. Any way, occassionally this wooden/ marble african head would rattler every so often, which was freaky in itself. Last week on the wooden part, there was a small hole in the top of it, and sawdust around the head. And today, we found a bug on the floor. I have a photo of it, but i dont think you can put them up here. Its Orangy , 5 legs and im geussing it lost one, has quite big wings and is about an inch in length. looks like a mosquito but isnt one. Also it can obviously survive on wood for 2 years. If anyone could tell me what this is, it would be great

There are many wood-boring insects, some beetles and others moths. It probably looks like a mosquito because its wings didn’t expand properly after it emerged from the wood.
