Dark Elf Corsairs Starting Warhammer?
Hiya,
Im stuck at home for a week with my new dark elf battalion ie:
28 Dark Elf Warriors, 20 Corsairs and 5 Cold One Knights
But I don’t yet have any books or the rules. What is the most effective way for me to build these without breaking the rules?
I’ve decided to just have warriors with reaper crossbows and let the corsairs do all the close combat as im better at stealth/tactical combat (the people im playing against also only have basic battalions at this stage)
Can I have10 corsairs with hand crossbows and 10 with two hand weapons?
It sounds like you’re going the right way. However, be aware that if you do the Corsairs with two different weapon sets, they will have to be used as two different regiments as you can only choose one weapons type for each regiment (there are some exceptions, such as including Dark Elf assassins and equipping sergeants or commanders differently, but the rule of thumb is about right).
To get you started, I’d suggest two regiments of 14 warriors each, two of 10 corsairs each (as you’re already doing) and one regiment of 5 Cold One Knights.
These will make a good core army to start playing with and you can then decide how you want to expand each regiment, or what units you want to add, once they’ve had a few turns on the tabletop.
