Serious question. They’re always slaves to someone else at one point in pretty much any fantasy story.
Orcs are green but okay.
Generally speaking, it has to do with human psychology on reacting to those who are different. Racism and intolerance are very similar. Humans in general are usually just afraid of change as well but that’s an entirely different subject matter.
